Do you know someone who’s made a real positive difference to your life – or those of other people? If so, Hull Kingston Rovers wants to hear from you. The club’s on the look-out for Community Heroes – individuals who go that extra mile to help others in their local community.
As a thank you, every Community Hero will receive at least four tickets to a home game at Craven Park, courtesy of club sponsor Neil Hudgell Solicitors. And details of how the Hero has helped others will be publicised by The Robins.
Neil Hudgell, Chairman of Hull Kingston Rovers and Managing Director of Neil Hudgell Solicitors, said: “I am delighted to link the club and my business through the Community Heroes Award.
“Rewarding people for their good deeds and hard work is so important and underlines how the Robins are not a stand-alone club but very involved with our supporters and our city. That’s exactly the same for Neil Hudgell Solicitors. We are committed to the communities we live and work in.
“I hope people will come forward and use this opportunity to thank publicly any previously unsung heroes.”
Hull KR are now seeking nominations for the club’s first Community Hero. The award will be officially launched at the first match of the season – this Sunday (January 15) against Wigan Warriors – and the hero will get tickets to the next home game against St Helens on Sunday Feb 19.
The Community Heroes Award is similar to an initiative at Hull City AFC, also sponsored by Neil Hudgell Solicitors, specialists in personal injury and medical negligence claims.
To nominate a Community Hero, details can be sent via email to robins@neil-hudgell.co.uk or by post to Neil Hudgell Solicitors, 530 Holderness Road, Hull, HU9 3DT. Nominations are open from now until the end of the 2012 season and should state the name of the person nominated, the reasons for the nomination, along with a contact telephone number.
