Neil Hudgell Solicitors sponsor charity helping victims of violent crime

22nd September 2011

Neil Hudgell Solicitors are pleased to announce our sponsorship of national charity MAMAA for the next two years. MAMAA (Mothers Against Murder and Aggression) supports the victims of violent crime and their families.

The sponsorship from Neil Hudgell Solicitors will enable the charity to install new telephone landlines and technology, and increase funding for MAMAA training for volunteers and workers to allow them to extend their work.

In addition, the support will help MAMAA to hold its biggest fund-raising event – an annual ball – and also to stage its national conference. The conference, held every year, is attended by victims of violent crime, those involved in their care and professionals in the legal, policing and social sectors. Neil Hudgell Solicitors part sponsored this year’s event, which had 200 delegates, and have now decided to extend the company’s support.

Lyn Costello MBE, head of MAMAA, said the charity was delighted at the sponsorship deal which will improve the sustainability of the organisation.

Lyn Costello said: “We have worked with Neil Hudgell Solicitors in the past and it’s clear that they are a rare commodity - lawyers with knowledge and understanding of the victims of serious crime.”

Neil Hudgell, Managing Director of Neil Hudgell Solicitors, said: “As we have become more involved with MAMAA and its work, it has become apparent that this is an extraordinary charity helping people who can often be forgotten or whose needs are overlooked.

“As part of our corporate social responsibility strategy, we are proud to sponsor MAMAA and enable it to plan ahead and expand its efforts supporting the victims of violent crime and their families.”
